Naturally, their search led them eastward into the East Bay, stretching across Walnut Creek, San Ramon, Dublin, Pleasanton, Livermore, and now extending further to Tracy and beyond.

This region became a new kind of frontier — where innovation meets open skies, and where tech talent could build world-class careers while raising families and enjoying nature’s best.

The East Bay has quietly evolved into one of California’s most dynamic regions, offering both professional opportunities and an exceptional quality of life.

The East Bay offers what few regions can — the space to think big, live well, and still stay connected to the pulse of innovation.

After 2019, the world of work changed forever. The shift to remote and hybrid work opened up new possibilities — professionals could now live where they thrived, not just where their offices were.

Thousands of tech professionals moved from the Peninsula and San Francisco to the East Bay, drawn by its balance of community, affordability, and natural beauty.

But amid all this growth, one thing was missing — a strong local tech community.
Most startup events, meetups, and investment networks were still concentrated in San Francisco or the Peninsula. The East Bay lacked a consistent forum where founders, investors, and innovators could meet, collaborate, and build together.

In 2025, three local leaders  — Vishu Datla, Sugata Sanyal, and Pat Dutta — decided it was time to change that.

They hosted the first Silicon Valley East Bay Founders (SVEBF) event at the ZINFI Technologies lounge in Pleasanton. Expecting a small group, they were amazed when over forty founders, investors, and technology professionals showed up — ready to engage, share ideas, and explore what could be built together.

The energy that night made one thing clear:
The East Bay was ready to write its own chapter of Silicon Valley’s story.

From that event, SVEBF was born — a community dedicated to connecting East Bay innovators, entrepreneurs, and investors and with global opportunities.

SVEBF is more than an organization — it’s a movement.
It’s about building together: creating a network of thinkers, dreamers, and builders that defines what the next generation of Silicon Valley looks like — right here in the East Bay.

Our mission, vision, and objectives were shaped from that first event — grounded in collaboration, learning, mentorship, and growth.

This is only the beginning.

The story of SVEBF continues to evolve with every meetup, every partnership, and every startup launched.
